Advice for the
institutions moving
energy, capital and
influence
across
borders.

What we are
A privately held advisory firm serving principals, regulated institutions and governments — from offices in London, Istanbul, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta.
How we work
Senior, partner-led engagements only. Confidential by default. Most mandates begin with a single introduction and continue for years.
§01 practice three integrated capabilities

What we do, and how the work fits together.

Our practice is organised around three capabilities. Most mandates draw on more than one — an oil contract becomes a financing question, a financing question becomes a sovereign one. The firm is structured for that complexity.

01

Energy Petroleum & Commodities Advisory

We advise buyers, sellers and intermediaries on the structuring, sourcing and logistics of petroleum products — including crude, EN590 and its derivatives, A1 jet fuel and base oils.

Our work spans contract design, counterparty diligence, vessel and inland logistics, and the operational reality of moving energy across borders — with deep regional focus on Europe, the Middle East and Singapore.

02

Capital Banking & Transactional Finance

We provide transactional advisory across banking and trade finance, with the ability to introduce financial instruments, access to high-fidelity trade desks, and tailored banking solutions through our network of regulated partners.

Every introduction is conducted within a compliance-first framework. We work within KYC, AML and sanctions regimes — not around them.

03

Sovereign Cross-Border Project Management

We act as transactional advisor and project manager on transatlantic and intergovernmental initiatives, drawing on long-standing relationships with public and private stakeholders.

The work involves convening coalitions, structuring joint ventures, and moving complex multi-party projects from memorandum to mobilisation.

§02 position where we sit, and why

We sit at the intersection of three industries that rarely speak the same language — energy, capital and government.

Silk Route Holding was founded in London in 2013 to bridge that gap.

A decade later, we serve clients from boardrooms in the City to petroleum operators in Singapore, refiners in the Gulf, and ministries across Africa and Asia. We do this quietly, rigorously, and on terms that protect every party at the table.

The firm is deliberately small. The work we take on is sensitive, multi-jurisdictional, and almost always confidential — which requires senior people in the room and a structure that rewards judgement over volume. We have not changed that model since 2013, and we do not intend to.

§03 geography five offices, three continents

A practice built for three regions.

Our partners and counterparties are concentrated in the corridors where energy, capital and policy converge. We work primarily across Europe, the Middle East and Singapore, with active project relationships across Africa and South-East Asia.

§05 principles why principals choose us

Four commitments,
held since 2013.

We are deliberately small. That structure is a feature, not a constraint: every engagement is led by a partner, every recommendation is tested against the firm's standard, and no mandate is too sensitive to execute carefully.

i.

Principal-led engagement

Every mandate is overseen directly by a director. There are no junior teams, no white-labelled work, and no surprises in who shows up to the table.

ii.

Compliance-first network

Our banking, trading and logistics partners are regulated entities. We work within KYC, AML and sanctions frameworks — never around them, and never at the margins.

iii.

Multi-jurisdiction reach

A presence on three continents lets us convene parties, structures and approvals that single-market firms cannot. We work in the timezones our clients live in.

iv.

Discretion as default

We do not publish client names. We do not publicise transactions. References are available on a peer-to-peer basis, and only where appropriate.

Begin a conversation

If our practice fits your requirement, we should talk.

Most of our work begins with a single, confidential introduction. Tell us what you are working on, and we will respond with whether we are the right firm — honestly, and within the week.
